Oversized caricatures of preschoolers

Had the opportunity to illustrate some oversized caricatures for my building’s child care center. The shown kids are heading to kindergarten in the Fall.

After 25 years, Oprah Winfrey is leaving daytime TV. She’s a great role model for all types of people and helped so many people with her words of wisdom. Yet, here’s a recent conversation I overheard, so I’m paraphrasing it for my Harambee Hills cartoon.

Mt. Hebron Softball team

I had a great opportunity to illustrate four Mt. Hebron High School graduating seniors from photographs. I illustrated the young ladies in pencil, then scanned the images. I completed the art and coloring in Illustrator and Photoshop.

In 2010, I illustrated a comic book inspired by the real-life adventures of the scientist, Nikola Tesla for the American Physical Society for its blog PhysicsCentral: Buzz Blog.


Here’s an original image I created to be used for a party invitation. The woman dressed in red and white, has many sisterly friends and enjoys collecting elephants. I wanted to show the original hand-drawn pencil sketch, along with the finished, computer-generated, Adobe Illustrator (vector) version.

Color Me Physics is a series of books that I illustrated and published by created with the goal of introducing children to physics is a fun and exciting way. AIP Child Care Center staff caricature

I had the opportunity to create a huge (2 feet x 6 feet) vertical caricature for the instructors at a local child care center. I know these women well, because my son attended the facility for three years when he was younger. The football player was a staffer who was not there on picture day.
